The Thirst Project, is a non-profit organization / movment consisted of students mostly from colleges and highschool that participate in helping get clean wáter for third world countries and teach as,well as reach out to the people of the city and communities to talk about third world problems like dirty wáter, the importance of preserving wáter and giving to those in need. The reason for why the Project started was because many places like Kenya and Uganda do not have the technology or money to afford plumbing or flters for clean wáter , many people must go to dirty rivers and seas to drink wáter, In fact they are also so low on wáter that many of these people must bathe and drink within the same wáter.

This is how the Project came to be in the year 2007 Seth Maxwell and Friends went on a trip to Uganda to help as part of a humanitarian service trip but after that trip he couldn't believe how important and valueable wáter truly is. So he wanted to do all he can to help others beaware of the true issues that matter about wáter and others that are in need of it. He and with the help of many other organizations have came up with new ways to give clean wáter to these places / countries . How? By providing the people of these countries with pumps that helps filter the wáter which would mean that the wáter have less bacteria and could prevent many dieseas from spreading such as Amoebiasis, Cholera and Dysentery all which are fatale and can very well be transmitted by the wáter.
But in order for The Thirst Project to get ahold of these pumps ,which can cost up to $7,800 - $20,000 dollars they must all work hard to fundraise and get donations for the pumps. Because having the Thirst Project be a non-profit organization much of the rasing is depened on even the smallest donations. Which is already of great help , I have had the expiernce of being able to get a donation from a family friend and it was cool because I was able to explain to them the tragic truth about wáter in other countries and what hundreds even millions of people go threw everyday, Especially when it comes to showing them pictures of kids with no wáter is very sad because kids can grow up and live with long term effects of dirty wáter.during my donation presentation I told her that ifshe gave a dollar to donate she can help even a little to reach the goal of giving a village or even town new wáter that can even help about 500 people! I thought that was awesome and so did they. I learned and felt great about teaching others and how even when asking for a dollar and reseaving it, it can son change so much.
